The “Design Cork meets Science and Industry” Seminar is an event promoted by the consortium APCOR (Portuguese Cork Association), SUSDESIGN and Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands), with the high level support of the Portuguese Ministry for Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lisbon.

The Seminar is a scientific event with the goal to create and discuss subjects related with the new areas of technological and scientific innovation focus on the development of new content and methodologies of innovation with relevance to the national cork sector.

The Seminar program includes presentations in the field of Science and Materials and Design disciplines and its contribution for the development, innovation and Sustainability of the sector.

Several national and international speakers from relevant scientific institutions, as MIT - Massuchets Institute of Technology, Delft University of Technology, 

Instituto Superior Técnico and Minho University, in between other institutions, have been invited to present a reflection on these subjects and to come with new concepts and ideas for the future.

On the behalf of the consortium of the “Design Cork meets Science and Industry” seminar, I am pleased to invite the cork sector and design firms and other interested audience as university representatives, researches and students, to participate in this pioneer initiative in Portugal and the World.
